Start with the content

Keep your first site small. Enable only sections you will use: /blog for articles, /logs for quick updates, /labs for interactive work, /docs for reference, or /book for a curated guide. These are defaults you can rename or disable; /info holds your about page.

The generated starter keeps site configuration in src/lib/site.ts. Follow site structure and navigation to change paths, labels, ordering, and enabled sections together.

Give it your identity

Choose a site name, a short explanation of the work, and a homepage that leads to something worth reading. The homepage guide explains the page composition; colors and typography covers shared theme tokens.

You can use individual components with your own styles. Import the full theme only when you want Alkemist’s complete page styling.

Make article lists readable

Use compact rows for short updates or a featured image and grid for visual articles. PostList keeps the content separate from its presentation, with optional reader controls. Start with the live post list examples, then configure cover images and thumbnail crops.
